Giovanni Reyna will play a key role for Borussia Dortmund this season, the club’s sporting director has confirmed.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has confirmed that Giovanni Reyna remains important to the Black and Yellows with the 21-year-old midfielder set to remain at the club this season, Bild reported on Monday.
Reyna was previously expect to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer as the USA midfielder fell out of favour, but the 21-year-old will now stay at BVB and continue to play a key role in the team, Kehl has confirmed.
‘Gio could become very important for us this season,’ Kehl said of Reyna’s future. ‘He has to accept his role and free himself from it. It was clear when we had talks in the summer that Gio wanted to take on this role that there would be enough games where we needed him. We know he has incredible skills. ‘
‘Gio could be an important player for us this season. There are no other ideas. There is nothing on the table and I have not heard that the player wants to leave.’
